The German Riding School was incorporated to the State Stud in 1968 and attends to the training, the preparation for exams and the final exams for "Pferdewirte" and riding instructors. It is the central home of the professional riders (Pferdewirte - Fachrichtung Reiten), the members of a professional group that is of vital importance to the flourishing pursuance of equitation and thus to the prospering of horse breeding.

The courses that are being held for horse show specialists (judges, course builders, assistants) consequently meet a good response.

Thanks to the possibilities offered by the State Stud and the special conditions as a nationwide training centre, the German Riding School gives its trainees an outstanding basis for a successful start in their career.

In view to the training level, the School ranks between the Landesreitschulen (riding schools of the land) and the German Olympic Committee for Equestrian Sports. It works nationwide. In order to fulfil its duties, it cooperates with the Sports Department of the German Equestrian Federation (NF) and the Group of Professional Riders and Drivers in the German Riders and Drivers Association.
The School aims at cultivating and spreading the classical art of riding.
