Equestrian sport is becoming increasingly international with riders travelling and competing worldwide. In association with this the number of young people seeking employment as grooms or riding instructors is growing steadily in the countries represented by the EEN (Equestrian Educational Network). These circumstances demand rigorous training programmes with a strong international dimension. Most European countries have one or more national centres as the German Riding School where grooms and riding instructors can study. There is considerable benefit to students when the national centres work closely together.
